Microneedling—Rejuvapen
“Fractional Collagen Induction Therapy”
Microneedling with Rejuvapen is a non-laser and non-surgical treatment that helps skin to stimulate collagen production and produce fresh new tissue, improving circulation of the skin. By enhancing the production of collagen, Microneedling with Rejuvapen can reverse signs of sun damage, improve the appearance of scars caused by acne, stretch marks, and hyperpigmentation.
**Microneedling with Rejuvapen works on all skin types.
Used to:
*Microneedling can be used to treat all parts of the skin throughout the body*
- Lift and Tighten Skin
- Rejuvenate Skin
- Reduce Wrinkles and Fine Lines
- Minimize Pore Size
- Improve Appearance of Scarring
- Improve Hyperpigmentation
- Activate Cell Regeneration
How Microneedling Works:
Rejuvapen uses micro-needles in a small cartridge, creating invisible, vertical, micro perforations into the top layers of the skin. This activates the skin’s natural repair mechanisms and starts producing collagen and elastin. This self-repairing aspect of the skin is a 100% natural form of skin renewal.
The needles, adjustable length from .2 to 2.5mm, allows for customized treatments that can be used for skin freshening to deep scar repair, anywhere on the body. This allows for the skin to become firmer and regain elasticity, as well as reduce the visibility of lines, wrinkles, and pore size.
How many treatments are suggested?
Generally, patients will require 4-6 treatments, some requiring more than others, depending on the patients desired outcome and level of severity of treated areas (such as deep acne scars). Treatments need to be scheduled at least two weeks apart.
After Treatment:
Directly After:
After receiving Microneedling treatment, patients will notice a healthy pink glow and significantly reduced fine lines. It will take about four weeks for your skin to make new collagen, though patients will only start to see the full effect of Rejuvapen four months after receiving treatment.
Aftercare:
For the first 48 hours, it is suggested that patients use tepid water to clean the treated area and gently rub the area to dry. Use clean hands in order to avoid infection, as well as avoid applying makeup and cosmetic products on the treated area immediately after receiving treatment.
Downtime:
Healing time generally depends on the depth of the procedure (such as treating deep scarring).
Within 24-48 hours after treatment, the skin will look pink or red, almost like a sunburn, with some slight bleeding and mild bruising. Your skin might also feel a little warmer than usual, tight and itchy; this will pass very quickly.
Patients might see some redness that may resemble that of a sunburn, which can last 2-4 days (some patients notices redness to go away within 24 hours).
The inflammatory reaction of the skin and the red/pink look fades after a few days.
